Launch of The African Borrowing Charter

Tanzania Coalition on Debt and Development (TCDD) in collaboration with the African Forum Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) launched The African Borrowing channel in Tanzania. The launch was conducted in the Tanzania parliamentary office and officiated with budget committee chairman Honorable Oran Njeza (MP) (third from right in the picture). The borrowing charter aims to sustainability balance public debt levels with the necessity to accelerate inclusive development and enhance public service delivery in Africa. The borrowing Charter aims to contribute to improvements in the transparency of the political, institutional, and administrative process used, and the accountability of the state actors involved in the contraction and management of the public debt, the issuance of public guarantee, the selection and implementation of debt financed projects and the formulation and execution of overall facial policy, within the context of strengthened legal frameworks and the rule of law
